The TL;DR of it - was fine. A good film on its own merits, but as a live-action adaptation of the animated classic, inferior. I'm not one of those puritans who sniffs the original is always better, but that's the case here. There are parts and elements of it that work well and improve on some parts of the original, but as a whole, the original is better. I just got done watching the new Beauty and the Beast movie and I have to say that I enjoyed it quite a lot.

It seems to be getting a lot of negative reviews for some reason. The Nostalgia Critic for example hated it. He had this huge rant about how much he hated basically everything about it. But I personally loved it.
